Frequently Asked Questions

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash, and checks.

How far in advance do I need to schedule?

While booking earlier offers more appointment choices, we acknowledge the challenge in making these decisions. We strive to accommodate same-day appointments, but please note they may involve an emergency fee.

What if we need to euthanize our pet outside of business hours or on the weekend?

We are usually available for after hours or weekend emergencies but these appointments do incur an emergency fee. If you have a pet that needs our services outside of Monday-Friday 9-5, call our emergency line at (570) 800-3733.

How will your pet be transported for cremation?

Following your pet's passing and your time spent with them, our veterinarian will handle the transportation for cremation. For smaller pets, they'll be carried out on a bed, while larger ones will be moved with dignity using a stretcher. You're welcome to observe this process, but it's completely okay to step away if that feels more comfortable for you.

What area do you cover?

We are based out of Lake Ariel, PA and cover a radius approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from our office.  Our veterinarian is licensed in both PA and NY and special arrangements can sometimes be made.

Do you still offer cremation if my pet passes before the schedule appointment?

If your pet passes before your scheduled appointment, just give us a call and we’d be happy to send someone out to transport your pet for cremation

Can we have a paw print made?

We make a paw print impression at every euthanasia appointment for no additional cost.

How long does the process take?

We generally plan for your appointment to be between 30-60 minutes. We understand some people need more time during the process and we do not rush you to say goodbye.

Can my pet eat on the day of the appointment?

Of course!  Let your pet eat as normal or something extra special on their last day.

Should my other pets be present during the appointment?

You're welcome to have your other pets with you, yet sometimes it's nice for you to be able to fully focus on the pet you're saying goodbye to. If you choose to have your other pets in another room during the process, Dr. Victoria will provide time after your pet has passed for them to come in and acknowledge the passing.

How do I know that my pet’s cremains are actually my pet’s?

We use a reputable licensed crematory and there are strict procedures that ensure your pet is returned to you. Your pet is handled with the respect we would expect our own be handled with.

What options do we have for receiving our pet’s ashes back?

Our office is open for pickups every Tuesday night from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, or alternatively, you can opt for direct shipment of the ashes to your home through USPS for $25. Please be aware that USPS requires a signature upon delivery.
